Update Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 with ICS Android 4.0 Styled Custom ROM

 Myth, no we are not talking of any myths here but “Myth” is an all new custom ROM which is being designed for Galaxy Ace S5830 smartphone. This Custom ROM firmware is mainly based on the Gingerbread 2.3.5 BUKS1 but if you have a look at the build number and the interface it’s an exact replica of the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.1 version. In the due course of the article, we will check out on what are the features of this version. Please note that this is not an Official version of firmware which is released by Samsung Electronics.
Unfortunately, there won’t be an Official Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 firmware due to hardware limitations. So, keeping things simple, we will first check out on what are the list of pre requisites you need to follow after which we will head directly to the procedure to apply this ICS Android 4.0 firmware, to be precise its Android 4.0.1 version.

Essential Pre Requisites:

• Charge your device with the minimum of 80% so as to ensure that the battery is calibrated with which you will be able to enjoy the best of the battery life.
• It’s always better to backup all your data present in your phone because after the firmware update the data present in the device may get lost or corrupted.

Note: Don’t use KIES to backup as KIES won’t be detecting the phone after this update since it’s a custom ROM.

• Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your Galaxy ACE S5830 from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. After this, you need to disable / close all the tools like Firewalls, Antivirus suites as these generally tend to interrupt the process of firmware update.

Procedure to Update Galaxy ACE S5830 with ICS Styled Myth ROM:

• Before proceeding, you need to be on any of the Rooted firmware. Once the device is rooted, we hope that the Clock Work Mod Recovery is installed in the phone. After this, download ICS Myth Custom ROM Firmware in your computer.
• Once you are done with the above step, it’s now time to connect the Galaxy ACE device with the compute using the USB cable and copy the ICS Myth Zip ROM in your device’s SD Card. Once you copy the same, turn off the phone and remove the connected USB Cable so as to enter the phone into the recovery mode.
• The recovery mode in the Galaxy ACE can be entered by Holding Menu Button and then Power ON the device. If the device turns ON in the normal mode then you need to try again to enter into the recovery mode.

• Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the ICS Android 4.0 Zip file which is placed in the phone.
• Once you select the file, the process of firmware update will be started and it will take up to 5 minutes to finish the update. Once the update is applied, you need to select “clear cache” from the recovery mode itself so as to clear off the cache data.
• After the firmware update gets finished, you need to select “++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. And there you go, you have now successfully updated the Galaxy ACE S5830 with the latest firmware of Myth which is the ICS Styled Custom ROM.
