Root Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 Gingerbread Firmware

If you are having the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 handset and if you are on the Gingerbread 2.3.x Update then here’s a good news for all you guys as in the due course of this article we will see on how you can easily root your phone. There are various benefits of rooting and also in the due course of the article we will see on what is the rooting process and also we will see the advantages as well as the disadvantages of the rooting process. Its not recommended to proceed with the rooting process if you are on any of the other firmwares.
To check on which firmware you are on your Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, then you need to go to the path Settings > About Phone > Android Version where you will find the version of Android OS where it will show GINGERBREAD or 2.3.x.

What is Rooting?

Just in case if you are new to the rooting process then the rooting process is basically a process wherein the system files are provided with the access by the third party applications due to which the customization becomes possible.
There are several advantages for rooting along with one disadvantage.
Advantage is that it allows you to customize the phone as per your phone and also allows you to install other tweaks so as to apply many other themes and also you can install the specific apps which require the rooting access.
The only disadvantage is that the warranty gets void, though it can be regained by updating with any of the stock or default firmwares.
So, in the due course of this article we will see on what are the short list of pre requisites which you need to follow and then followed by the procedure to root the phone. It’s very important to follow the instructions strictly or else you may even brick the phone.

Pre Requisites:

You will have to follow the three list of pre requisites before proceeding to the list of instructions so as to facilitate the smoother rooting process.
  • In the due course of the process the data which is stored in the phone gets erased, so you need to take a backup of the same.
  • Now, ensure that the device is charged to at least 60% so as to make sure that the device doesn’t get turned off in the process of rooting process. The USB Debugging in your phone should be enabled. The USB debugging can be enabled from the path Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.
  • Close all tools in your computer like the Antivirus tools, KIES PC Suite and also the firewalls as these tools tend to interrupt the rooting process. If there are any other lag fixes installed in your phone then you need to uninstall the same or remove the same from your phone as this may hamper the process of rooting.

Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 on DDKQ5 Firmware:
  • Now, first up you will have to download the Galaxy ACE Rooting Package from here to your computer and then you need to connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.
  • After this you will have to enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can refer the below mentioned video on how you can enter into the recovery mode.
  • Now, you will have to you will have to choose “install zip from sd card” and after that you will have to select another option “choose zip from SD”. From a list of zip files, you will need to select the zip file which you placed in the device which is named as “upd_1.zip” and then you will have to wait till the process is done. As soon as the rooting process is done, you will have to wait till 5 – 10 minutes so that the process gets done.
  • As soon as the rooting is done, the device will be rebooting and just in case if the device doesn’t reboot automatically then select “++++ go back ++++” and choose the option of “reboot system now” to manually reboot the phone.
